International Training Programme

Mid Career Training Programme in Field Administration for Civil Servants of Bangladesh

The Ministry of External Affairs has entrusted NCGG with the task of training 1500 mid- career Civil Servants of Bangladesh. So far, 62 Deputy Commissioners in 4 batches and 1048 Additional Deputy Commissioners (ADCs) and Upzila Nirbahi Officers in 29 batches have been trained. The training includes participatory classroom sessions in Mussoorie on governance approaches, e-Governance initiatives, disaster management practices, exposure to district administration and such projects as the Delhi Metro. The valediction function is organized in Delhi at the end of these 2-week training programmes. The programmes have been well received by participants and the feedback has consistently been more than 90% for both content and delivery. These training courses found a mention in the Joint Declaration dated June 7, 2015 between Bangladesh and India issued during the visit of Prime Minister of India to Bangladesh. The 30th batch of training is being conducted and 4 more such batches are scheduled to be trained till March 2017.

Domestic Training Programmes

Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM-Gramin)

The Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation (MoDWS), Government of India has assigned National Centre for Good Governance the task of organizing Training-cum-Orientation Workshops on SBM for District Magistrates/District Collectors/Chief Executive Officers and Zilla Panchayat Presidents (DCs/DMs/CEOs/ZP Presidents). Overall feedback from participants of these programmes have been consistently more than 85%, Around 150 DC/DMs and 250 others have been trained so far in 18 batches. 150 more such officials including 60 DCs/DMs are to be trained this year in 5 batches. In addition, NCGG has also organised, with UNICEF support, 6 district level programmes for all levels of officials. BDO level programmes for three states (MP/UP/Jharkhand) have been organised with Ministry’s support; similar programmes for Chattisgarh and Bihar will be organised during the current financial year.

Capacity Building Programmes for PHED Engineers

We have trained around 1500 PHED Engineers in 42 batches on water quality, recharge, conservaton, harvesting and supply. The programmes have been received well with an overall feedback of 80% plus.

Management Development Programme for Lok Sabha Secretariat Officials

This is a five day programme which is conducted annually for the officials of the Lok Sabha Secretariat.

Training programme on Public Policy and Governance for Odisha Administrative Officers

The programme is organized once or twice per year depending on the request from Odisha Government.
